CyLon announces its fourth cohort
Cyber London (CyLon) Europe’s first dedicated cyber security accelerator, is today announcing the eight security start-ups participating in its fourth programme. CyLon, which fosters a thriving home-grown community of cyber security companies in the heart of London, has already successfully accelerated 23 companies since its launch in April 2015, and is delighted with the quality of its latest cohort.
CyLon’s cyber security accelerator consists of a three-month programme where entrepreneurial teams with innovative and disruptive business ideas are provided access to expert training and guidance from an accomplished network of mentors and investors to bring their product to market. At the end of this programme, the companies will present their businesses to prospective customers, investors and partners at an in-house Demo Day. In addition to an intensive curriculum of training, mentorship and access to a fully-furnished office space, the teams selected to participate in the programme will receive a £15,000 investment in their businesses in return for 3% equity.
The fourth cohort includes twenty-five participants ranging from very early stage teams, through to established companies seeking support as they seek to accelerate development and reach new customers and markets. The participating teams are:
AppsPicket - AppsPicket offers the next generation in 2FA technology that’s usable, frictionless and economical.
Codified Security - We give companies the answer to the question ‘Are our mobile apps secure?’.

CyLon is also pleased to announce that Mimecast has joined BAE Systems, Raytheon, KPMG and others as a sponsor of CyLon’s fourth cohort. During the programme, Mimecast will provide expertise and support to the startups in areas including product development, business development and PR and marketing skills.
Neil Murray, CTO, Mimecast, commented: “As a global cybersecurity firm grown out of London, Mimecast is looking forward to mentoring the newest cohort of innovative start-ups. We believe in exploring unconventional solutions and working with new entrepreneurs will help us all to better protect UK organisations from evolving attacks. “
Richard Wilding, Director of New Ventures and Innovation at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence said: “Our longstanding partnership with Cylon provides a great opportunity for us to help support and nurture the next generation of talent in the cyber security industry, while at the same time giving us a chance to refresh our own thinking and processes.
