Taxi Wash for Children in Need
Staff from a local taxi company got their mops and buckets out in a charity taxi wash to raise funds for Children in Need.
On Friday, staff from Station Taxis, based in Riverside Road, Southwick held a charity taxi wash and invited their drivers to have their taxi’s cleaned in aid of the children’s charity.
Over 20 taxis were cleaned, said Marketing Manager Natalie Bland: “It was great to see all the staff and drivers get involved in something for an amazing cause, even if we did get a bit wet!”
Staff from throughout the company were involved in getting their hands dirty for charity, including Managing Director Trevor Hines who said: “All of our staff ‘got mucked in’ and were really enthusiastic. Lots of our drivers brought their taxis over in between jobs to our head office and made generous donations – including tips!
“Seeing the BBC Rickshaw Challenge coming through Sunderland on the 12th of November inspired us to do our bit for the Children in Need charity, which is a really worthy cause.”
As well as the car wash, staff also raised funds by getting their legs waxed and donating money.
A total of £273.00 was raised for Children in Need.
