Entrepreneur completes acquisition of second Bargain Booze outlet in Macclesfield
Entrepreneur Lia Rutter has purchased her second Bargain Booze business in Macclesfield after securing funding through banking partner Royal Bank of Scotland.
Lia acquired her first Bargain Booze outlet on Moss Lane four years ago, and after experiencing considerable success, she has secured her second retail business, less than two miles away.
Bargain Booze stocks hundreds of product lines from lagers, wines, spirits, chilled and frozen foods to snacks and confectionery.
Lia employs six members of staff at her Moss Lane shop and has retained two members of staff on Westmorland Close as part of the sales terms.
With sales anticipated to rise further over seasonal periods, Lia has already increased sales by £2,000 a week at her latest Westmorland Close shop since opening two weeks ago.
Plans are already in the pipeline as Lia is thinking of her next acquisition, which may involve investing out of the local area.
Lia commented: “I have been involved with retail for over 15 years and one day I thought I can do this for myself, and so I did. It’s daunting when you are investing large sums of money into a new business but I was confident Bargain Booze would work for me.
“Opening my latest shop on Westmorland Close is testament to the confidence I had in the business model and I’m pleased I took on the challenge as sales are increasing each week.
“I’m not stopping at two shops, I will continue to identify the next suitable location for me and when I find this I will be purchasing my third business, which is all really exciting.”
Bev Berzins, business relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “Lia is such an inspiration to not only women in business but entrepreneurs in general.
“She displays such drive and passion and we have every confidence she will expand her portfolio into a thriving empire one day as she has the right attitude for business.”
