Help to buy selling well in Coventry
The popularity of Help to Buy, the Government-backed initiative to help first time buyers and existing home owners, remains high in Coventry, said a leading housebuilder this week.
Amanda Benjamin, sales and marking director with Persimmon Homes Central, said the scheme was enjoying particular success at their Paragon Park development in Coventry.
“We have seen quite an increase in the number of customers using the popular Help to Buy initiative,” said Amanda. “People are clearly finding it a very useful way to get onto the property ladder.
“I think the increased use in Help to Buy has been because of a greater awareness of the scheme. It has been well advertised and most people know at least something about it now.
“Persimmon Homes build houses to suit people at all stages of their life, but here at Paragon Park there is a particular emphasis on first time buyers as that is what is needed here in this area of Coventry.
“High quality, affordable, smaller properties, such as our two and three bedroom terraced properties are perfect first homes for young professionals and couples starting their families, and are proving popular with people who use Help to Buy.”
Help to Buy is a Government initiative available to everyone, not just first time buyers, on new build homes in England up to the value of £600,000. Under the scheme, buyers only need a five percent deposit to secure their new home; the Government then provides a 20 per cent shared equity loan, leaving the buyer with a 75 per cent mortgage.
Amanda added: “Our sales advisers are fully trained in Help to Buy and would be delighted to explain the scheme to househunters.”
Paragon Park off Foleshill Road, is a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes close to the thriving city centre of Coventry. Built on the historic former Courtaulds factory site, the development is well placed for commuting and easy access, with both the Arena Park shopping centre and the Ricoh Arena close by.
