Premier Tech Aqua to Support Alice House Hospice

Country Durham based wastewater and water treatment specialist Premier Tech Aqua (PTAU) have nominated Alice House Hospice the charity that provides care, comfort and support to people affected by life limiting illnesses, as its chosen charity.

Founded in 1980 by Alice Bendle, Alice House Hospice is the only adult Hospice in the Hartlepool and East Durham areas of the UK that offers a range of care services which make a huge difference to thousands of families in the region each year.

The team at PTAU chose the preferred charity following one of its team members, Ian Evans, running the Great North Run earlier in the year to raise money on behalf of Alice House. The company and its staff were extremely impressed by the work and dedicated support that the Hospice provides, offering a very much needed support system to help so many vulnerable people whilst supporting their families.

And the company has already demonstrated its commitment to the Hospice by sponsoring Ian Evans £200 to participate in the Great North Run. In addition to that, the male members of the PTAU team are participating in a Sponsored Moustache Growing event, where all proceeds raised will be donated to Alice House.

Speaking about their chosen charity, Steve Joyce, Managing Director at PTA said: “We are delighted to be supporting Alice House Hospice which makes a real difference to so many people in the community. At PTAU, our CSR programme is very important to us, and as such, it was imperative for us to partner with a charity that would allow us to give back to our local community and we believe that we can do just that through having Alice House Hospice as our chosen charity.”

As part of the company’s commitment, Steve met up with Greg Hildreth, Events Fundraiser at the Hospice, to present the hospice with its first cheque from the company for £200 after Ian successfully completed the Great North Run.

Steve added: “It was great to meet with Greg first hand and discuss the great work that the Hospice is doing and the pivotal role it plays in providing care, comfort and support for those in need, which further confirmed that we have made the right decision for our chosen charity. We will endeavor over the next 14 months to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.”
