Leanne Tonks, Round Table Solutions
Northumberland-based PR and marketing agency Round Table Solutions has added Leanne Tonks to its team as an account executive.
Having worked with the company in the past on a freelance basis, Leanne is delighted to have been offered the opportunity to join the team on a full-time basis.
Since graduating from Northumbria University with a BA in Journalism and English Literature in 2013, Leanne has also become a graduate of the prestigious Squared Online course in digital marketing after winning a scholarship with Google.
Her work experience to date includes marketing roles at holiday price comparison website icelolly.com and software company, Mandata Limited.
Leanne said: “I have always admired Round Table Solutions and the work that they do, so I was thrilled to be presented with the opportunity to join the team.

Trevor Bailey, Cairn Group
Trevor Bailey has joined Newcastle-headquartered hospitality operator The Cairn Group as training and development manager, responsible for over 3,000 staff across the portfolio of 31 hotels and 30 plus bars, UK-wide.
Having proven success in design, delivery and evaluation of training activities and extensive leadership development accomplishments in previous roles working internationally, Trevor most recently worked for London-based Dominvs Group where he supported the growth of the family-run firm by implementing sustainable training tools and played a key role in the opening of three new-build hotels.
Trevor will be based in Newcastle, reporting into the city centre head office, although he will mainly be out in the field developing the company’s talent pipeline and supporting the various training initiatives in place across the different areas of the business.
Trevor, who lives in South Yorkshire, said: “I’m incredibly passionate about training and development and, through my previous experience, am looking forward to creating meaningful learning practices that really make a difference for Cairn Group’s people – pairing brain-friendly principles with innovative blended learning solutions.
“The company’s vision for people development is an inspiring one and I’m really excited to be a part of it.”
Caroline Scobie, Westway
Westway Veterinary Group has expanded its management team with the appointment of Caroline Scobie as a clinical director.
Caroline joined the Newcastle-based veterinary company six years ago after studying veterinary medicine at Edinburgh University.
She has run Westway’s Tynemouth surgery since it opened nearly five years ago, as well as working on medical cases and carrying out operations at their main hospital in West Road, Newcastle.
Caroline joins Helen Clark, Amy Steel and Jane Thompson on the board of Clinical Directors at Westway, which employs 40 vets at its 21surgeries across the North East, from Wideopen down to Darlington.
She said: “I love Newcastle and love working at Westway, where we have an amazing team of receptionists, nurses and vets.
“We have fantastic facilities to work up cases, with digital X-ray, ultra-sound, excellent operating facilities, seven operating tables, and a separate cat and dog unit. We have a very close team with a lot of experience in surgery and medicine.
“We all work really well together and this is a happy place to come to work.”
Cloe Snell, ievo
Newcastle-based ievo Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of biometric fingerprint recognition systems, has appointed Cloe Snell as Regional Manager for the North.
Covering the area North of the M62 corridor including Scotland, Cloe started with the company in September 2016 with an aim to develop, manage and support ievo Ltd’s installer and integrator network.
Cloe said: “My role as Regional Manager is to help support our current installers and integrators whilst also developing new partnerships across the region.
“My previous role was within sales for a security distribution company; I have a proven track record of ten years experience working with security installers which has allowed me to build up first hand knowledge of the sector and security systems.
“As a company, ievo are well respected within the industry, with excellent client and product support and with increasing numbers of businesses looking to utilise biometric readers in access systems, it’s great to be part of a growing business in a growing market!”
Craig Priday, NDI
UK body for the Defence, Aerospace, Cyber and Space industries NDI has appointed Craig Priday, Managing Director of Newcastle-based Pearson Engineering, as its new Chair as part of a major expansion of the organisation.
NDI is a division of EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation. It represents, and provides services for, 200 companies in the UK defence, space, aerospace and security sectors.
In this new role, Craig will be focusing on ensuring NDI, which has a significant presence in the North East, continues to grow and assist SMEs in gaining access to commercial opportunities in the defence, aerospace, security and space sectors.
Craig Priday said: “I’m very honoured to be assuming the Chair of NDI at such a vital time. The aerospace, defence, security and space sectors are high-value and highly skilled, and make a substantial contribution to the UK economy. Their continued success is vital.”
