New restoration business to focus on historic North West properties
A new construction and historic buildings restoration firm is launching in Greater Manchester.
Irlam-based Heritage Building & Conservation (NW) Ltd will provide traditional craft skills and expertise to support councils and owners of heritage property across the North West.
The company, established alongside a York branch, has taken on local craftsmen with traditional skills and experience working on historic buildings.
The business is a subsidiary of Hertfordshire-based HB&C Investments Ltd, which is owned by South African businessman Gordon Verhoef.
Heritage Building & Conservation (NW) Ltd’s office in Manchester is headed up by Adrian Walker, whose background lies in stonemasonry and conservation.
Adrian has previously worked on heritage restoration projects in the region, including on Manchester Cathedral, with English Heritage and a number of architects.
He commented: “This is an entirely new and separate company with a fresh team, bags of energy, top-level heritage buildings experience and a bright future thanks to our backing from a South African businessman recognised internationally for his work in the historic buildings sector and preserving traditional craft skills.
“The North West’s history as a significant religious, government, utility and industrial heartland of the UK, means that there is, and always will be, a need to maintain and restore its many beautiful, spectacular and historic buildings and Heritage Building & Conservation (NW) Ltd is committed to doing this to the highest possible standards.”
Heritage Building & Conservation (NW) Ltd already has several projects in the pipeline, including the completion of works at St Philip & St James Church in Alderley Edge.
