Trio of businesses signs new deals for Joseph's Well in Leeds city centre

A trio of new deals have been signed at the recently refurbished Joseph’s Well, which now features high-quality and affordable office space in central Leeds.

The transformation of the 156,000 sq ft five-storey building in Westgate, which was originally built for Leeds clothing magnate and MP Sir John Barran, was undertaken by Leeds-based property company J Pullan & Sons.

Three new occupiers have now relocated to Joseph’s Well, which is located within Leeds city centre beside the Inner Ring Road offering easy access to the M1, M62 and M621 motorways and Leeds Bradford International Airport.

The new occupiers are Diagnostic Healthcare, which has taken 2,377 sq ft of office space on a 15-year lease; the health charity Brainstrust, which has has moved into 700 sq ft on a three-year lease; and recruitment company JHE & Partners, which has taken 507 sq ft on a three- year lease.

Alex Hetherington of JHE & Partners commented: “Joseph’s Well is the perfect site to support a growing business like JHE & Partners due to the flexible workspace on offer. Since moving into our new office the onsite staff have provided excellent support and the location has proved extremely convenient for our clients.

“We hope to remain at Joseph’s Well for many years and would have no hesitation in recommending their offering to anyone looking for office space in the Leeds area.”

Will Jones of Brainstrust added: “Brainstrust’s coaching-led cancer support is highly personalised and available round-the-clock. This approach really sets us apart.

“In the last financial year, we helped more people with a brain tumour than ever before, which is extremely rewarding for our team, and our supporters. With the opening of our Leeds office, we can continue our ambitious expansion plans, to help even more people with brain tumours to live a better life.”

Rents are now £16.75 per sq ft, including all service charges, and are fixed for three years.

There is currently 16,341 sq ft of quality office space available in the building.

Bruce Strachan, property director of Pullan’s, said: “These three new deals underline the continuing popularity of Joseph’s Well. Following the refurbishment, we have seen an increasing level of interest in Joseph’s Well resulting in new lettings.

“These are all excellent examples of expanding enterprises and their arrival underlines the versatility and flexibility of space here, which is attracting a real breadth of occupiers”.

Robin Beagley of property agents WSB, which is marketing Joseph’s Well, concluded: “We are delighted to welcome these new tenants to Joseph’s Well.

“The latest lettings are testament to the investment made by J Pullan & Sons Limited, delivering a quality office product that suits a range of occupiers which, when combined with the dedicated onsite management team, extensive on-site car parking and competitive rent, makes Josephs Well some of the best value office space in the city.”
