Blackburn telecoms firm eyes job creation after HQ move

Claritel Ltd, the Blackburn-based telecoms provider, has made the move to larger premises as it looks to grow its client base and workforce.

The Lancashire firm has relocated to Daisyfield Business Centre in Blackburn which the firm claims will facilitate 20 new staff hires over the next five years.

Founded by Jay Motorwala back in 2011, Claritel provides telecoms services, including phone systems and broadband, to both public and private sector organisations.

Motorwala, who has 15 years’ experience in the telecoms sector, said that the move to new premises was supported by Boost, Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, which provided advice and guidance on business planning and making the move.

He said: “Most businesses have a business plan, however we wanted a road map of where we wanted the business to go in the next three years and the next five years.

“The Scaling for Growth workshop I attended allowed me to take my day-to-day hat off and look at our current position, where we are looking to go and how to achieve this whereas previously I could never find the time to do this”

“The workshop was very valuable and the knowledge I took away helped me create a blueprint for our future.”

The move has already created three new jobs at the business, with more to follow after the growth hub’s initiatives, which are delivered by Winning Pitch and Enterprise4all, helped Jay quantify his growth plans.

Rona McFall, head of entrepreneurial solutions at Winning Pitch, added: “By having a conversation with an experienced advisor [Roy] was able to make the most of potential opportunities to aid his business’s growth potential and we’re pleased that the tools and techniques he picked up have enabled him to fine-tune the vision of his business’s future and pin-point marketing opportunities to expand its reputation.”
