Getting around Nottingham made easy for Trent Basin residents

Residents at Trent Basin, the stunning new development of contemporary, low energy homes, can now take advantage of exclusive free membership to the Enterprise car club.

The scheme, in partnership with Enterprise Cars, offers a flexible and attractive alternative to owning a car, and fits in with the Blueprint’s ethos of creating a low energy, environmentally friendly and sustainable neighbourhood at Trent Basin. Residents who move into the waterside development will enjoy one year’s free membership plus a 10 percent discount on all car rental for that year.

It is estimated that one car club car can result in taking 24 private vehicles off the road due to members eventually selling their own car in place of club membership (according to www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/carclub).

Peter Conboy, project director at Blueprint, said: “Nottingham is a city which is taking the lead when it comes to offering sustainable transport options. By offering residents at our Trent Basin development the attractive option of car rental, it helps reduce the number of cars on the road.

“It also fits in with our environmentally friendly ethos at Trent Basin and reduces carbon emissions. Although still in the very early stages, we are looking into the possibility of installing charging points for electric cars at Trent Basin. Again, it supports our focus on creating a low energy environment.”

Trent Basin is ideally located for residents to take advantage of the great transport network and links close to the city. Nottingham City Council is creating an Eco Expressway which will create a high frequency low emission transport corridor along Daleside Road, off Trent Lane. And, just a few minutes’ walk from Trent Basin is Nottingham City Transport’s C2 Park and Ride route which goes from Colwick Racecourse to the city centre.

A new Eastern Cycle corridor is also being developed from Colwick to the city making Trent Basin a convenient location for cyclists. Close to West Bridgford, Holme Pierrepont and Colwick Country Park, residents can get on their bikes and enjoy the open spaces the area has to offer.

If you are interested in finding out more about living at Trent Basin please book an appointment with the agents FHP Living on 0115 841 1155 and Royston & Lund on 0115 981 1888. Potential home owners will be able to get a view of the new streetscape which leads to the waterfront and to get a look at the tall, contemporary homes inspired by European canal houses.
