The Good Luck Club is now open at Wellington Place in Leeds.

New food and drink venture launched at Wellington Place in Leeds

Wellington Place in Leeds has welcomed the city’s newest eating and drinking destination, the Good Luck Club.

Glenn Cooper and Stacey Needham, who are behind the coffee shop and bar Sociable Folk, have opened the doors to their new venture, The Good Luck Club.

The Good Luck Club offers food throughout the day, from breakfast to early evening using ingredients from local suppliers like Lishman’s of Ilkley, all cooked on the charcoal grill in the open plan kitchen.

Diners are able pick between a salad, burger or bowl and fill it with something from the grill or chargrilled veggies, with an array of sides and dressings to choose from.

Drinks wise, there’s a bar area, stocking a range of beers, wines, champagnes, spirits as well as beans supplied by micro coffee roaster Maude.

Glenn said: “Sociable Folk is doing really well, I’m so proud of what has been achieved since we opened in 2014. It’s become a popular place to meet and catch up for people who live and work in Leeds city centre. Our regular customers are testament to that.

“The Good Luck Club is the next chapter and focuses on creating another destination for people to meet, eat, drink, relax and do business.”

Explaining the concept, Glenn added: “Diners can pay us a visit to meet with friends and colleagues or take a seat by themselves to do some work. Meeting space is available for those who would like to host clients and there are plush booths for those looking to enjoy a more relaxed setting.

“It’s a great fit and hugely in line with the ethos of Wellington Place. The approach to lifestyle, health and wellbeing is second to none here, so I feel that The Good Luck Club adds another string to the bow.”

James Dipple, chief executive of MEPC, added: “MEPC knows how important it is to offer something above and beyond the working day at Wellington Place and we’ve worked hard to create that.

“Sociable Folk has a wonderful following and is incredibly popular with people who are based in the city centre. I’m looking forward to Glenn and Stacey’s next instalment, The Good Luck Club is a great fit for us.”

Wellington Place is home to one of the largest public spaces in Leeds city centre, the businesses on site can tend to an allotments, visit the onsite gym, have a kick about on the five-a-side football pitch or take a yoga class.
