Online trade tool Tradesmenin to launch in Yorkshire

Tradesmenin is an online directory of tradesmen and women that enables you to find local trades people quickly and easily. Leaving the Yellow Pages behind, this is an online tool that can find you the right tradesman in as little as two clicks. Simply select a location, a trade, and Tradesmenin will do the rest for you.

Geoff Bell, Managing Director, describes how the tool works: “Tradesmenin is a new venture which we are in the process of launching.

“At the moment we are involved with planning the digital marketing approach that we will take when the business is fully launched. In the background there is the setting up of the telephony side of the service, without which we wouldn’t have a business. So there is a lot of work going on which at the moment, it is all planning and preparation!”

Geoff, who previously studied to be a Chartered Accountant, began his telecoms career at a Leeds-based business selling fax machines.

He explains: “I joined Norweb Telecom (which was part of United Utilities) as a Sales Manager, with responsibility for managing their Channel of Resellers, ISP’s and Premium Rate Service Providers.

“I left in 2004, and with a couple of colleagues set up our own company and have been involved in various Telecom based projects for the last 12 years. It is a fascinating industry as it changes so quickly and as a result there has never been a dull moment!”

As confident as they are, Tradesmenin are not alone in the online tradesmen market. They are up against the likes of Trusted Trader and Rated People for a slice of the pie. But with a robust digital marketing strategy and years of expertise behind them, Geoff seemed to take the prospect of a challenge in his stride.

“At the moment it’s about trying to get all the ducks in a row and keep them there! The biggest challenge is still to come – when we launch!”

This can-do attitude puts Tradesmenin in the perfect position to take on the competition, and certainly encourages like-minded business leaders and entrepreneurs to not be deterred.

“Believe in what you are doing and try to enjoy it. It’s easier to get out of bed in the morning if you do.”
