Keepmoat breaks ground on £43m Heron's Reach development in Bradford

The ground-breaking ceremony has taken place at a new 14.3 hectare development in Bradford that is set to deliver 292 new homes.

Developers Keepmoat welcome representatives from Bradford Council and former land owners Hallam Land, for the sod cutting ceremony which kicks off the seven-year project.

The Heron’s Reach development is to deliver a range of two, three and four bedroom homes, along with public open space, off-site highways improvements and a further £1m contribution for education infrastructure enhancements.

As part of the build, which has a predicted completion date of November 2023, the developers have pledged to invest in local construction labour as well as deliver educational and training opportunities to the local community in Bradford.

Ian Hoad, Keepmoat’s regional director for Yorkshire West, commented: “At a time when there is so much negativity and questions surrounding the housing crisis, we are delighted to have partnered Bradford Council and Hallam Land to make some significant inroads in tackling the provision of new homes in Bradford.

“We’re proud that 75% of Keepmoat customers across the country are first time buyers and we are confident that the delivery of these 292 new homes will serve to improve home ownership in the city, through the availability of schemes like Help to Buy.

“As with all of our new housing developments, we are also wholly committed to putting back into the community and we hope that over the course of the seven years, we will be using an entirely local workforce; while also encouraging young people into our field through training and apprenticeships.”

Keepmoat expects new homeowners to move into the new development beginning April 2017.
