Utilitywise targets Scotland with Business Stream partnership

Utilitywise plc, the North Tyneside-based independent utility cost management consultancy, has partnered with Business Stream, the UK’s third largest non-domestic water supplier.

Under the terms of the partnership, Utilitywise will offer gas and electricity procurement services and technology to Business Stream’s customer base through a joint marketing programme, initially in Scotland and additionally in England when Business Stream’s acquisition of Southern Water’s non-domestic business takes effect in April 2017.

Business Stream and Southern Water currently serve approximately 90,000 and 100,000 customers respectively.

The partnership is part of the Group’s wider strategy to capitalise on the customer engagement and revenue opportunities presented by the deregulation of the English commercial water market in April 2017.

Brendan Flattery, CEO of Utilitywise, said: “We are delighted to be partnering Business Stream to provide a one-stop utility solution to their customers across Scotland.

“With over 30,000 customers across the UK, Utilitywise brings significant expertise in helping businesses to get better value from their utility suppliers.

“This partnership will provide Business Stream customers with access to competitive energy prices as well as cutting edge technologies and services to help them reduce utility consumption and save even more money on their electricity, gas and water bills.”

Jo Dow, Chief Executive of Business Stream, added: “This is an innovative, triple utility offer designed to appeal to SME customers, enabling them to save time, money and effort.

“This new partnership makes it easier for customers to buy all their essential utilities in one place and to manage their accounts online at a time and place which suits them.”
