Altrincham contractor FK Group launches Shoreditch base
North West contractor FK Group has expanded its southern footprint with a new base in London.
The Altrincham-headquartered company has moved into a refurbished 2,800 sq ft office in Shoreditch that will serve its increasing client portfolio and projects in and around the capital.
The office, located at Zetland House, will begin with a team of 15 but FK Group plans to double that number by the end of next year.
Envocare, FK Group’s maintenance arm, has relocated its team from Romford in Essex to the Shoreditch hub, where they will be joined by staff from FK Group’s FK Projects and FK Facades divisions.
The company currently employs 160 people across the UK and provides full building envelope contractor services, from design and construction through to maintenance.
The firm has previously worked with a number of construction sector brands, including engineering company Laing O’Rourke and developer BAM.
FK Group’s managing director, Steve Hall, said: “As we continue to grow and further establish a nationwide presence, we saw the need to up our presence in London.
“We are increasingly considered for London-based projects as we are now definitely a national player.”
He added: “The fantastic location in Shoreditch means we will attract key talent from the wide skills base available and its transport access makes it a prime location.”
In the 12 months to March 31 2016, FK Group’s annual turnover rose year on year by 52% to £70.5m.
Speaking further, Steve commented: “Year on year, FK has continued to grow within the building envelope sector.
“We are fortunate to have developed and maintained relationships with some of the industry’s biggest names and today we have a truly nationwide presence.”
