MSIF COO Lisa Greenhalgh

North West festive focus: Lisa Greenhalgh, MSIF

As the North West’s business leaders tie the bow on a frenetic year and prepare for a hard-earned festive break, Bdaily North West has asked movers and shakers in the region to give their verdict on 2016 and tell us their hopes and fears for the new year ahead.

Up today is Lisa Greenhalgh, COO of loan and equity finance provider MSIF, who gives us her views on the last 12 months and reveals what goodies he’s hoping to find under his tree.

What are you most proud of achieving in 2016?

Sourcing lots of new opportunities which should come to fruition 2017.

Which was your busiest month, and why?

November. There have been lots of networking events in the build-up to Christmas.

What are your thoughts on Brexit so far?

Well it hasn’t been triggered yet. After an initial reaction of some people being apprehensive, it seems to have blown over. We certainly haven’t see a reduction in the number of businesses coming to us for funding.

What are you most looking forward to in 2017?

Launching a new fund.

What will be your biggest obstacle next year?

There might be some challenges but I don’t foresee any serious obstacles.

What’s the outlook like for your sector over the next 12 months?

Good. There is no shortage of businesses wanting to start or expand and we have plenty of finance available through loans or equity investments to help businesses that need funding to achieve their goals.

Tell me about your staff Christmas night-out

If you mean do I have any stories to tell, then no, as it’s not until Friday! We’re going for drinks at Castle Street Townhouse before heading to the Alchemist for a meal. We’ve got a booth booked in the Vincent later on for drinks. We’re a close knit team and we’ve got a couple of new faces since last year so I’m really looking forward to it, we always have a good laugh.

What’s the best date in December to put decorations up? How early is too early?

I can’t put mine up until 10th December as it’s my daughter’s birthday on the 9th so I like to wait until after that. Any time before the 1st December is too early in my eyes!

What are you hoping to get from Father Christmas? What’s your Tracy Island/Buzz Lightyear this year?

I’m very fussy so I don’t really like getting anything surprise-wise from Father Christmas as I can’t be bothered taking it all back! But if Father Christmas is reading you can never go wrong with a diamond.
