Amelia’s red Northumberland surprise
You don’t have to go all the way to Lapland to see Father Christmas as Amelia Burns has just discovered.
For four year old Amelia from Stafford was in the north-east last weekend catching up with her cousins Summer, Jessica and Amber who live locally in Gateshead and Newcastle with part of the trip involving a visit to Santa’s favourite northern lass, ‘Northumberlandia’, aka The ‘Lady of the North’
The red coated, white whiskered chappie was so taken with the iconic Northumberland landmark (managed by Northumberland Wildlife Trust) when he visited the region last December; he decided to pay a return visit and set up his temporary grotto, just as Amelia and her cousins walked through. Who says miracles don’t happen in Northumberland!
