London property agents mastermind Eldon Square dining expansion
London-based leisure property agents, Shelley Sandzer, have secured a raft of new signings for the new dining line-up at intu Eldon Square’s new leisure extension in Newcastle.
The signings at Eldon Square’s Grey’s Quarter extension have included Red’s True BBQ, which has taken a 5,000 sq ft space, Smashburger, which has opted for a 2,000 sq ft site and Chiquito’s opening at a 6,900 sq ft unit.
The extension officially opened in October following £25m-worth of renovation and refurbishment work to turn part of Eldon Square into a fully fledged leisure and dining quarter.
Amy Counsell, Leasing Agent at Shelley Sandzer, commented: “It has been fantastic to see intu Eldon Square’s Grey’s Quarter evolve and to work alongside intu from the project’s early stages to help bring the strategy to life.
“With such a strong line up of operators we are thrilled that intu Eldon Square has been re-positioned as Newcastle city centre’s most exciting dining destination.”
Shelley Sandzer’s signings join the likes of Handmade Burger Co., PizzaStorm and Frankie & Benny’s, as part of the dining line-up at Grey’s Quarter, with Thai dining concept Chaophraya, the Alchemist and Tapas Revolution all set to open soon.
Kate Grant, regional director at intu, added: “The response to Grey’s Quarter so far has been incredibly positive and trading has been strong. This is only going to continue with further new openings.
“We can already see an uplift in footfall at intu Eldon Square and Grey’s Quarter will increase dwell time, developing our strategy to make the centre a destination for shoppers to enjoy more leisure time with us.”
Shelley Sandzer acted on behalf of intu in the deals.
