Dawson & Sanderson jets to top agency award

NORTH East travel agency Dawson & Sanderson has been named the best in the country by one of the UK’s largest holiday firms.

The Newcastle-based firm - which has 23 stores across the north of England - was recognised for its high standards of performance and customer service in the annual Jet2 Holidays awards.

Dawson and Sanderson received two of the top awards at the glittering ceremony held in Cyprus being named best performing large travel agency while the Newcastle store took the honour of being the best overall travel agency across the whole country.

Chris Harrison, Managing Director of Dawson & Sanderson, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won these very prestigious awards. It’s recognition that we are the best travel agency in the UK for customers to book Jet2 Holidays with, not just in terms of the numbers of bookings but more importantly in providing service beyond expectations.

“This is quite an accolade and it makes everyone at Dawson & Sanderson feel incredibly proud that we are recognised and endorsed by one of the biggest names in the holiday industry.”

Dawson & Sanderson sent two of its staff - Amanda Allen and Dawn Knox – to Jet2’s prestigious gala dinner in Cyprus to collect the award along with £2000 worth of prize fund towards marketing Jet2 Holidays.

The national award comes just a few months after Dawson & Sanderson was named as the best apprenticeship provider in Tyneside and Northumberland in the North East Business Awards. The 53-year-old business was also shortlisted as one of the best large travel agencies in the UK at the prestigious Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards in July.

Alan Cross, Head of Trade at Jet2 Holidays, said: “Working with travel agents is absolutely critical to the ongoing growth and success of our business, accounting for a third of overall sales.

“Our VIP conference recognised and celebrated that, and gave agencies a very clear understanding of how committed we are to working in partnership with them to grow with us.”
