Liverpool startup Milexa closes 2016 with sales of £1.3m
Interiors firm Milexa has announced double-figure sales growth as it prepares to embark on a new recruitment drive in 2017.
The Liverpool-based company saw its sales rise year on year by 60%, from £795k to £1.3m, thanks to its expanding presence within the wallpaper market.
In November, Milexa achieved its biggest sales figures to date – up 85% in comparison to the same point in 2015.
Over the last 12 months, the company grew its headcount from six to 16 and now plans to take on additional staff.
Richard Wilde, Milexa’s founder and managing director, said: “We’re committed to constant innovation and development and have the aim to become the UK’s leading wallpaper mural brand in the coming year.
“To move forward with this goal and plans for the future, we will be largely focusing on recruiting top talent in the North West.”
Richard, originally from Lincolnshire, established Milexa in 2010 after studying on a course for startup businesses at Liverpool John Moores University.
The firm’s studio and factory is based within the city’s Baltic Triangle area, a burgeoning district for digital and creative enterprises.
