Zaizi bolsters senior team

Zaizi – an award-winning open source software consultancy – has bolstered its senior management team, with the appointment of Mark Ashton to Head of Operations and Michael Suttling to Service Delivery Manager. It has also promoted Sergio Rojas Buitrago, who has been at the firm for four years to Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

The appointments come during a busy period for Zaizi, which continues to grow its client base across UK Government departments. The company recently announced it has entered into an official relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide a complete cloud services portfolio that will give its customers such as the Department of Education and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, fast, flexible access to the cloud.

The promotion of Rojas Buitrago, who is one of the longest standing members of the Zaizi team will see him take a lead role in building the capability of the engineering team and ensure the quality of the projects and programmes they deliver is first rate. Rojas Buitrago’s in-depth understanding of the company’s core technologies, products, and government service design manual will ensure he can mentor, motivate and drive the global Zaizi team to successfully deliver projects.

Previously Service Delivery Manager (SDM) at CGI, Suttling has over 25 years’ experience of project and programme management and service delivery and has overseen the rollout of numerous digital services using cloud technologies. He will now take full responsibility of the SDM role at Zaizi and lead the company’s service delivery to customers, while improving customer satisfaction and build strategic relationships with all of the company’s cloud platform providers

Ashton, joins the firm from Objective, where he held the role of UK Services Director for half a decade. There he oversaw the delivery of all Objective’s implementations and services engagement to ensure they met customer requirements. At Zaizi, Ashton will take a central role, overseeing all aspects of the business both at its London head office and at its operations in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Speaking about the trio of appointments, Zaizi CEO, Aingaran Pillai said: “The last 12 months have been extremely positive for Zaizi.
