Busy 2017 for Harrogate Interiors business Lime Lace!

The Harrogate based business has been nominated for 2 Yorkshire Choice awards, plans to launch a children’s range and renovate a new home, plus there’s a wedding to organise and a baby on the way!

Lime Lace Interiors and owner Sam King have been nominated for Independent Business of the Year and Business Woman of the year 2017 in The Yorkshire Choice Awards which recognise local people and independent businesses that are an inspiration in their field.

Entrepreneur Sam from Askwith has never done things by halves!

www.limelace.co.uk was launched in August 2012 when Sam realised there was a gap in the market for a retailer who specialised in eclectic and unusual home interior products and gifts.

Sam, a single mum of 2 at the time, saved up enough money to self-fund the business against advice of friends and family who were worried about starting a business in such a volatile economic climate.

The risk paid off and the business has gone from strength to strength. The website is a market place for designer and unique furniture, wallpaper, lighting, gifts, jewellery and art. Sam also works as an Interior Designer, Project Manager for residential homes, Stylist and Blogger! The Yorkshire business was the winner of the Kalixa Pro UK small business award in 2015 securing a £10k investment.

Sam is expecting her 3rd child in the Spring and is staring to plan her wedding to fiancé James who proposed just before Christmas.

Sam says, ‘It’s been a mad 4 years but so worthwhile! To be nominated for not 1 but 2 Yorkshire Choice awards is amazing! We’re absolutely delighted and very honoured to be in such great company. Looking at the list of nominees, it’s clear, us Yorkshire folk really are made of tough stuff!’
