Networking platform launches for Warrington’s tech innovators
A new networking platform designed to bring people from ambitious, high-growth firms together has launched in Warrington.
Operating from The Base, a 50,000 sq ft grade-A home for SMEs on Dallam Lane, the platform has already attracted more than 50 members.
The team behind the initiative, known as BaseConnect, believes that figure will hit 200 before the end of 2017.
Sylvie Morton, business development manager of property firm Langtree, which is managing The Base on behalf of economic growth partnership Warrington & Co, said: “Our tenants told us that they wanted a lively and informal networking platform for people involved in Warrington’s burgeoning tech and SME sectors.
“Warrington is thriving and its employers are ambitious for success. I’m not at all surprised by the enthusiasm for the idea.”
BaseConnect is free to join for any company involved in the Warrington area and allows members to check and register for events, keep up to date with news relating to The Base and the wider tech sector, and network with other members.
Warrington & Co MD Steve Park commented: “We’ve got the highest employment rate in the country and are just behind Manchester for our level of new business creation, but we can achieve more.
“Facilitating growth through building networks and sharing best practice has been shown to work exceptionally well in places like London and Manchester and I know Warrington has the capability to match them.”
