Capgemini launches startups competition with five-figure funding on offer
Startups from across the world are being invited to apply for a new competition organised by global technology consultants Capgemini aimed at showcasing the latest innovative companies across a range of sectors.
Its InnovatorsRace50 will offer five successful startups the opportunity to secure $50,000 in equity free funding, along with the usual networking and mentoring opportunities commonly on offer in competitions and programmes of this sort.
Those wishing to enter have until 28 February to apply, providing a pool of entrants from which Capgemini will select fifty startups across five categories who will then be put through their paces in meetings with a panel of experts.
Two finalists per category will then meet up with tech and industry experts at Capgemini’s five Applied Innovation Exchanges (AIE) in London, San Francisco, Mumbai, Paris and Munich, where they will have the chance to develop and test their innovations before the five winning startups are selected.
In particular, the global consultancy is looking for startups developing innovations in the following categories:
- Govtech and Social Enterprises
- Fintech and Mobility
- Consumers and Well-Being
- Digital Processes and Transformation
- Data and Security
Lanny Cohen, Group Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Group Executive Committee at Capgemini expressed his belief that digital disruption is ‘redefining all industries’ with innovation providing the key driver of change.
He said: “Navigating the startup scene is at the very heart of what we do for our clients. It’s a privilege to work with emerging entrepreneurs and witness some of the most advanced and radical thinking that is transforming businesses today.
“We look forward to an exciting special birthday edition of Innovators Race this year, and to welcoming the finalists into our AIEs to help them refine their offers.”
