London-based outsourcing group announces UK and US acquisitions

International distribution and outsourcing firm, Bunzl plc, have today announced two acquisitions on both sides of the Atlantic that will expand its product offering in both the US and UK.

The group, which is headquartered in London, has snapped up Northampton’s Woodway for an undisclosed sum and food packaging business, Packaging Film Series (PFS), which is based in Denver, Colorado.

Boasting revenues of £31m in the year to 30 June 2016, Woodway supply packaging products and solutions to a range of UK market sectors, with a particular focus on customers in the retail supply sector.

Meanwhile, PFS primarily sell food packaging products to food processors, and had revenues of $6m in 2015.

Both deals follow on the back of Bunzl’s acquisition of Danish firm Sæbe Compagniet, which provides cleaning and hygiene products to hospitality and catering businesses, which the firm has completed following approval from the Danish competition authority.

The purchase of PFS complements our food processor business in the US by further enhancing our product offering, particularly in relation to barrier films.
