Keyland signs largest ever PPA deal to accommodate 276 homes

Keyland Developments, the sister company to Yorkshire Water and a subsidiary of the Kelda Group, has signed its biggest Planning Promotion Agreement (PPA) to date.

The deal is with a private landowner on a 30-acre site in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, which has been allocated for housing in the local plan and will be able to accommodate up to 276 homes.

This latest announcement follows on from Keyland’s first two PPA agreements signed last year in West Yorkshire which have a combined 21 acres of land identified for residential development of some 240 new homes.

The PPA’s involve Keyland working with independent landowners, corporates or regulated bodies to overcome obstacles to development on strategic sites in order to facilitate regeneration by securing planning consent for future use.

Peter Garrett, managing director of Keyland Developments Ltd, said: “We are pleased to see that Keyland’s PPA’s are gaining significant momentum.

“The new agreements enable landowners within the region to derive the maximum potential from their sites with no financial risk, whilst unlocking much-needed land to assist the local authorities in meeting their long-term housing needs.

“This latest PPA deal highlights the unlimited potential for this side of the business to grow exponentially over the next few years.”
