Business development professional joins Caulmert’s growing team

Construction professional Chris Gooch-Butler who has many years of solid experience across a number of engineering sectors and also in helping engineering consultancies to grow and develop has been recruited by consultancy Caulmert

Chris has recently joined the employee-owned engineering, environmental and planning consultancy firm as business development director to help build on the growing success of Caulmert.

He joins the North Wales-based business having spent his career as an engineer with various national consulting engineers working both overseas and in the UK.

Chris, a chartered civil engineer, said: “I was really attracted to Caulmert as it is a fresh, dynamic company that has a terrific reputation and works with some great clients across a number of sectors and disciplines..

“In a previous role I helped a small consultancy grow from a single office and £1.2m turnover to eight UK regional offices and £12m turnover in 5 years and I’m very excited about the tremendous growth potential of Caulmert.”

Chris, who lives in Pantymwyn, near Mold in North Wales, continued: “My role is very much client facing and my main focus will be to develop a good client base, forging even stronger relationships with existing clients as well as attracting new ones.

“I am particularly keen on increasing the breadth and depth of Caulmert’s client base by winning some new high value clients but also focussing on important repeat business with our existing clients “

Caulmert founder and managing director Mike Caulfield, based at Caulmert’s headquarters at St Asaph Business Park, said: “Chris is a fantastic addition to the team and he will play a vital role in helping to grow the consultancy.

“His experience and knowledge in the sector will be a huge benefit to ourselves, and he has settled in well.

“We’re thrilled to have Chris on board and he’s already made a positive impact in the short time he has been here.”

Founded in 2009, Caulmert is on track to meet an ambitious 15-year growth plan that would see it employ 250 people by 2024. In addition to St Asaph, it also has offices in Bangor, Nottingham, and Altrincham.

The firm, whose projects span the UK, from the Hebrides to the Isle of Wight, counts among it’s clients Willmott Dixon, Stoke City FC, Wynne Construction, TGI Fridays, Viridor, and Airbus.

Its expertise in a variety of planning, environmental and engineering projects is supported by the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and modelling to meet PAS1192 level 2.
