Firm pledges its support for important children’s charity

Local children’s charity Molly Olly’s Wishes is receiving a welcome boost to its fundraising efforts - thanks to Thomas Sanderson.

The Coventry-based blinds and shutters manufacturer has pledged its support for Molly Olly’s Wishes as its corporate charity, and will spend 2017 raising money through a variety of events and activities.

Molly Olly’s Wishes supports children with terminal or life threatening illnesses and their families to help with their emotional wellbeing. The charity grants individual wishes and donates therapeutic toys and books to children directly, and to hospitals throughout the UK.

“We endeavour to support this very worthy cause indefinitely in a number of ways,” said Nigel Campkin, managing director of Thomas Sanderson. “From birthday donations and tuck boxes to raffles and lotteries, we’ll be putting all our efforts into fundraising.

“This year, we’ve already raised enough to grant two wishes - and our aim is for a further four during 2017. Another of Molly Olly’s Wishes’ initiatives is a therapeutic toy lion called Olly The Brave, and an accompanying book. It helps children’s emotional well-being by explaining, in a child-friendly way, the start of their treatment journey.

“The packs are donated to hospitals and individuals around the UK - so we’re also keen to help provide these too. Molly Olly’s Wishes is such a crucial charity, the team here at Thomas Sanderson is delighted to be playing a role in helping it support local children.”

Rachel Ollerenshaw of Molly Olly’s Wishes added: “We are delighted Thomas Sanderson is supporting us throughout next year. The company’s fundraising efforts play a vital role in helping us to be there for local children and their families, when they are at their most vulnerable.”
