Analytics firm Purple to create 10 jobs at new Oldham HQ

WiFi and analytics provider Purple has announced plans to create a raft of jobs after relocating to a new base in Greater Manchester.

The firm is looking to take on an additional 10 staff at its Oldham headquarters, where it moved this month due to outgrowing its former premises in Ashton-under-Lyne.

In the past 12 months, Purple has invested £5.4m to recruit over 100 new employees worldwide.

Purple’s chief exec, Gavin Wheeldon, said: “Purple has experienced unbelievable growth over the last few years and this move to a bigger and better headquarters allows us to continue building momentum.

“I’m sure the team will love the new office in Oldham, it not only offers staff a lot more space but the move marks a dynamic new chapter for Purple.”

Taking steps to break down the gender barriers prevalent in the UK’s tech sector, Purple hired 14 female staff in recent months.

Among the newcomers was partner account manager Angharad Little, who commented: “Working with such a thriving technology startup gives me the opportunity to contribute to something great and be part of Purple’s future success.

“Being among a new generation of women in the tech world makes me excited and I can only encourage more women to get on board.”

She added: “I did not have a technology based degree, but found an opportunity that was a great match for my personality, skills and ambitions.”

Elsewhere, Purple is looking to hire 25 workers at its office in Texas, which opened last week.

The firm, boasting 20m users globally, has an additional UK base in Berkshire and overseas offices in Spain, the US, Chile, Australia and Singapore.
