Jason and Irha Atherton to open all-day New York-Italian eatery in Victoria
Jason and Irha Atherton’s The Social Company are applying the finishing touches to their new Italian restaurant housed within the NOVA Food development in Victoria.
Hai Cenato, Italian for ‘Have you had dinner?’, will be opening its doors on Tuesday 7 February, and sees the Athertons pairing up again with Chef Patron, Paul Hood, coming after their Michelin-starred Social Eating House in Soho.
Spread across two floors, the new venue will boast a 60-cover restaurant on its ground floor serving up New York-Italian cuisine, joined by a 70-cover cocktail bar, dubbed The Drunken Oyster, on the first floor.
Hood’s menu will encompass small plates, pasta and risotto, grills and pizza dishes inspired by research trips to Italian restaurants in the American capital, ranging across breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In addition, the restaurant has also lined up monthly specials crafted by guest chefs, with £1 from each order donated to the Hospitality Action charity, and has already promised creations from the likes of Tom Kerridge and Paul Ainsworth.
Commenting on the launch, Jason Atherton said: “I’m really excited to be collaborating with Paul on another restaurant, he’s an incredible chef who I’m sure will repeat the success he’s had at Social Eating House in Victoria.
“We’ve taken some research trips to New York together and were really inspired by the amazing quality yet super casual, buzzy atmosphere of the Italian restaurants out there – that’s what we are trying to recreate in Hai Cenato.”
