First three occupiers confirmed at MediaCityUK creative hub Tomorrow

The latest creative and tech workspace to launch at MediaCityUK is set to welcome its first three occupiers.

Tomorrow, which launched in September last year, will soon house connectivity provider Global Capacity, radio production firm Audio Always and design agency Carbon Creative.

MediaCityUK newcomer Global Capacity will establish its UK HQ in a 2,227 sq ft office on Tomorrow’s first floor. Headquartered in the US, the company delivers network connectivity services to telecoms carriers and managed service providers.

Audio Always, meanwhile, will relocate its team from The Greenhouse at MediaCityUK to a 957 sq ft, two-studio unit at Tomorrow.

The third confirmed occupier, Carbon Creative, decided to move to support its growth plans for 2017, which include embarking on a recruitment drive.

MediaCityUK MD Stephen Wild said: “The first tranche of occupiers for Tomorrow represent an eclectic mix of key players in the creative and tech markets.

“It’s great to see the vision of MediaCityUK as an ecosystem for start-ups come to fruition, progressing to larger spaces as they thrive.”

He continued: “Equally, Tomorrow is attracting new occupiers like Global Capacity, who are worldwide players in the connectivity sector, and recognise the immense benefits that come from being positioned here as Manchester continues to lead the way in this sector.”

The Tomorrow building includes eight floors of workspace and four housing a 112-bed Premier Inn.

Audio Always director Stuart Morgan said the relocation is a “really exciting move” for the business and its sister company, On The Eighth.

He commented: “Our studios in Tomorrow will enable us to provide our clients with more flexibility in terms of recording and production facilities, and we are very much looking forward to expanding our services within the MediaCityUK community.”

Carbon Creative’s studio director, Kate Hadfield, said of the move: “We looked at a number of spaces across Manchester but the Tomorrow building tugged our hearts.

“MediaCityUK is the first development in the world to obtain BREEAM Sustainable Community status which is credit to the planning and architecture of the buildings, and very much of interest to us at Carbon. We also love the plan for collaborative spaces and hot-desking areas on the ground floor which we are looking forward to making use of.”

In October last year, workspace provider Ziferblat revealed plans to bring its pay-per-minute sitting room concept to Tomorrow. Work on the fit-out of the co-working space is now underway.
