Paralympic gold medalist to launch new fitness concept at Sheffield’s Fox Valley

Fit20, the health and fitness company, has called on a paralympic gold medalist to officially launch its first UK studio in north Sheffield’s Fox Valley next week.

Karen Darke MBE will cut the ribbon on the brand new fitness concept which can be found at the first floor at Harry Brearley House at Fox Valley.

Karen is a paralympic cyclist who took the gold medal in the women’s time trial at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. She will cut the ribbon at Fit20 on Wednesday January 25th.

Fit20’s focus is 20 minute work-outs aimed at people who find the gym can be too time consuming. The concept is backed by scientific research and development.

The work-outs consist of slow and controlled high intensity training in a precision cooled studio. Sessions are taken 1-2-1 with a fully trained personal trainer using new technology to track results and progress.

The Dutch concept was brought to the UK by husband and wife team Niri and Catherine Patel, from Holmfirth. Fit20’s first UK franchise studio at Fox Valley will also serve as a training facility for franchisees from across the UK and is managed by master trainer Deborah Sparks-Kerss,.

Niri said: “We are absolutely delighted that Karen Darke will be officially opening Fit20 for us next week, she really is an inspirational woman who believes that we are all stronger than we might think, braver than we might believe and more able than we might feel.

“We look forward to showing our studio and our unique concept at the opening - everyone is welcome to come along and find out more about both the Fit20 training and Franchise opportunity.”

Annabel Plumtree, centre manager at Fox Valley, added: “We are delighted to welcome the Fit20 team to Fox Valley and wish them all the very best with their venture and the official opening next week.”
