Arco completes £4m upgrade to National Distribution Centre in Hull
Safety specialist Arco has completed a £4m upgrade to its National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Hull.
The enhancements have created additional capacity and improved service and delivery capabilities.
The £4m investment forms part of the company’s expansion plans and includes the construction of a new mezzanine floor, doubling the number of pack benches.
The investment also included additional software upgrades and conveyor systems, all of which increase the company’s picking and packing capability for customer orders.
NDC colleagues were involved throughout the project and assisted in the design of the new pack bench area, meaning that the transition to the new system was seamless and customer service levels were not impacted.
Neil Griffiths, divisional director of logistics and supply chain, commented: “The enhancements to our NDC fulfils phase one of our extensive plans for growth.
“We recently had planning permission approved on new building which will double the size of our warehousing and distribution facilities.
“This significant investment will provide us with the supply chain infrastructure to support our ambitious growth plans.”
