Couple find perfect family home in Brownhills
One of the first families to move to a new Brownhills housing development have praised their new home.
The Espley-Atkin’s moved onto Kier Living’s Waterside Place development when their house was one of the first to be completed on the site.
Recently married in August, the couple purchased the home to start a fresh new chapter in their lives. Darren, aged 31, a sales executive who works in Reading, and Maria (41) a receptionist in Cannock, immediately fell in love with the property upon visiting the development for the very first time.
“We looked at a number of new build developments in the area, but nothing compared to what Kier Living had to offer,” said Darren.
“Our home comes complete with many additional extras such as washer/dryer and fridge freezer for example – items that other builders charge for.
“The development is also ideally located for us with great commuter links making it easier to get to work and has plenty of local amenities. We are especially looking forward to taking our pet Labrador Jazz for many walks alongside the nearby canal. The idea of decorating our own blank canvas really excites us and we can’t wait to make this house our home.”
Darren and Maria purchased a ‘Fairbourne’ three-storey home for them and their children Brad aged 18 and Caitlin (16). They particularly liked the split level design of the living space, meaning they could have their own space on the top floor while the children enjoyed the sanctuary of their own bedrooms.
Having previously rented a property, the couple used the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme to make their move happen. The initiative allows buyers to purchase a property with only a 5% deposit and helps to fund up to 20% of the purchase price in the form of an equity loan.
Darren added: “One of the many benefits of moving to a new build is that our monthly outgoings will be considerably less. For a start, our monthly mortgage is more or less half of what we used to pay in rent. We’ll also benefit from reduced heating bills because of the energy efficient build.
“We are very pleased with the design and quality of the house. However, if we need any assistance we are comforted in the knowledge that there is a ten year home warranty and a two year Kier Living customer care programme in place.
“The service we received from Sam the sales advisor was excellent and we had good communication throughout. She was quick and responsive and all of the information about Help to Buy was easy to understand. It was stress-free too as the mortgage adviser dealt with everything on our behalf. We can’t praise the staff at Kier Living enough and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a brand new home.”
Waterside Place is a stunning development of two, three and four-bedroom homes with prices starting from £133,995.
