Anesco named in Global Cleantech 100

Anesco, the UK’s leading energy efficiency solutions provider, has been named one of the world’s top 100 cleantech companies for a fourth consecutive year.

The prestigious Global Cleantech 100 ranks the most innovative private companies that are best positioned to solve tomorrow’s clean technology challenges and to cause significant market impact. To qualify, companies must be independent and for-profit.

Anesco was selected from a record 9,900 companies from 77 countries that were put forward for this year’s list, with the top 100 announced at a special forum held in San Francisco. The company is the only firm on this year’s list to have featured four years in a row.

Kevin Mouatt, Anesco CEO, commented: “To be named one of the top 100 cleantechs in the world - and not just once, but four years running - is something we’re very proud of. Our thanks go to the whole team at Anesco, as it is down to their hard work and ambition that we continue to lead the sector forward.”

He continued: “One of the secrets of our success is that we’ve always been focused on innovation and methods of best practice, effectively creating commercial models that allow us to bring new technologies to market.

“A major growth area is battery storage and momentum continues to grow. Since introducing the UK’s first commercial scale unit back in 2014, we currently have 95MW of energy storage installed or under development, with a further 300MW in the pipeline.”

With its head office based in Reading, Berkshire, Anesco works with clients ranging from major corporations to small businesses and individuals, helping to drive carbon reduction and transform energy use. To date, the firm has helped to raise over 330,000 people out of fuel poverty and the technologies it has deployed are generating over 1GW of renewable energy.

“From day one, the purpose of the Global Cleantech 100 program was to act as our barometric read on how the many facets that contribute to the emergence and maturing of an innovation theme like cleantech (the “doing of more with less”) are changing year on year,” said Richard Youngman, CEO, Cleantech Group.

“Now in its 8th year, we see more signals this year of the ongoing mainstreaming of clean technologies, sustainability, and resource efficiency on its journey towards the point where this is just the normal way business is done.”

The 2017 Global Cleantech 100 is produced by Cleantech Group, whose work keeps its audiences and clients in touch with emerging trends, leading innovation companies and all key players in sustainable innovation. The complete list of 100 companies was officially revealed at the Global Cleantech Forum San Francisco 2016.
