Blackpool’s Create Construction builds on student accommodation portfolio with £6m refurb project
Lancashire building Create Construction has secured a multi-million student accommodation project in South Wales.
The £6m contract will see the Blackpool-based company refurbish the Liberty Bridge development in Cardiff on behalf of student property business Liberty Living.
As part of the deal, Create Construction will overhaul 643 study bedrooms, including 14 studios across 130 cluster flats.
The refurb will also cover shared kitchens and circulations space, along with stairwells and communal areas.
Adrian Tottey, managing director at Create Construction, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to deliver another exciting project for Liberty Living.
“This large-scale refurbishment project builds on our significant portfolio of work within the student accommodation sector.”
The project kicked off with site setup and enabling works in November 2016.
Completion is due in September 2017, in time for the 2017/18 academic year.
