Manchester-based ConnectedClaims acquired by North East fintech rival
North West claims management firm ConnectedClaims has been snapped up by a rival business in the North East.
The Manchester-based company was acquired by Newcastle-headquartered fintech enterprise Allay, which will now welcome all 16 of ConnectedClaims’ employees to its office in Haydock, Merseyside.
Allay, a provider of claims processing services via its web and app-based platforms, now boasts a 204-strong workforce across centres in Newcastle, Merseyside and Wales.
The firm was established in 2015 and has since handled more than 1.3 million claims.
Just recently, Allay created what it said is the UK’s first flight delay compensation app, airFair.
Steven Bell, managing director at Allay, said: “With the launch of our new flight delay compensation app airFair, the timing was perfect to acquire ConnectedClaims.
“Rahul and the team at ConnectedClaims have years of experience in the flight delay claims market and will really add to the team.”
He continued: “ConnectedClaims has an established introducer network in the flight delay market, as well as a strong online presence and a talented sales and processing team. Adding their flight delay claims volumes to those of airFair puts Allay in a strong position to become the largest flight delay compensation business in the UK in 2017.”
Speaking further, Steven said that Q2 2017 will see Allay roll out its airFair brand to Europe through further acquisitions and the continued development of its TV and online marketing strategy.
ConnectedClaims MD Rahul Sharma commented: “ConnectedClaims and Allay have very similar cultures and it’s great to be working together.
“We’ve seen the flight delay compensation market expand massively in the past two years and Allay’s technology will help us to grow quickly.”
He added: “We’re really excited about what the future holds.”
