£300m Council Construction Pipeline Secured by Pick Everard
Leading independent management, design and construction consultancy Pick Everard has been awarded a framework contract to support and manage the successful delivery of major capital construction projects for Essex County Council over the next four years. The firm will be the local authority’s sole provider on its Construction Professional Services Partner (CPS) framework. The appointment follows a nationwide competitive tender. Essex County Council required a collaborative partner approach to ensure the effective delivery of its capital building programme. Pick Everard will deliver core services including project, cost and framework management. The firm will also work across numerous other areas including architecture, structural engineering and building services. The value of the framework for construction professional services secured by Pick Everard is up to £10m. It sits alongside a wider construction framework with a value of £300m. Gary Buick, director at Pick Everard, said: “We’re thrilled to be appointed by Essex County Council to support the delivery of its annual capital build programme which will provide a boost for the local economy by creating work for supply chain providers and new jobs. “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to continue to build upon our existing multi-disciplinary specialisms when delivering public sector frameworks.” Paul Darlow, regional director at Pick Everard, added: “This framework will help to streamline work, ensuring that a high level of quality is maintained and that projects are completed in a timely and efficient way. “Over the next four years, the region will certainly benefit from the work completed through the framework and there are some exciting plans surrounding Essex’s future in the pipeline.” As a partner to Essex County Council, the next four years will see Pick Everard work closely to deliver the council’s demand for construction projects that include a large schools programme to deal with population growth. Daniel Stanesby, head of Infrastructure Delivery at Essex County Council, said: “I am delighted to be working with Pick Everard as they bring a range of professional skills and strong project management coupled with collaborative behaviours, which is very important for a framework of this type. There was huge interest in the procurement and tough competition, so well done to Pick Everard.”
