Green Property hives off upmarket Westminster offices for £245m
Dublin’s Green Property has announced it has disposed of one of the capital’s ‘most prime’ office buildings and a neighbouring mansion in a deal worth £245m.
Hong Kong business magnate Stanley Ho’s Shun Tak Group has agreed to purchase 7 and 8 St James’s Square in Westminster, two properties that Green snapped up as part of a portfolio of assets owned by a company linked to poker fraudster Achilleas Kallakis.
The property at number 8 includes 62,200 sq ft of office space and includes Société Général as one of its tenants, while the 30,000 sq ft mansion next door at number 7 fronts on to St James’s Square and houses space for a pool, spa and sub-basement car park.
Mike Tapp, Director at Green Property said: “This sale highlights the resilience of very prime London properties in a post referendum environment. It is a reflection of the ongoing attractiveness of the West End as a target market for long term international capital.”
CBRE and Nabarro advised on the sale of the properties, with BNP Paribas Real Estate and Norton Rose Fulbright acting for the purchaser.
