New acquisition sees Christeyns become sole owner of Warrington food hygiene specialist Klenzan

Christeyns UK, the Bradford-headquartered laundry chemicals manufacturer, has purchased a further 50% stake to become the sole owner of Warrington food hygiene specialists, Klenzan.

Established 25 years ago, Klenzan uses its chemistry and industry insight to manufacture, design, install and maintain cleaning solutions across the food, brewing and beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical industries.

In 2012, Christeyns UK purchased an initial stake in Klenzan, providing growth opportunities for both parties.

Christeyns has now acquired the remaining shares in the company from outgoing managing director and founder John Bell who retires in March.

Klenzan will strengthen Christeyns group’s current position in the food hygiene market across both the UK and Europe.

Alain Bostoen, Christeyns chief executive officer, said: “Over the past four years we have developed an excellent partnership with John and the team at Klenzan.

“The time is now right to bring Klenzan into the Christeyns family and take the company into its next stage of development.”

“Developing our presence in the food hygiene industry is a key strategic focus and dovetails with our European aspirations and plans.

“We are really excited about working with the Klenzan team and helping develop their extensive product range.”

Mr Bell said of the deal: “Christeyns’ expertise and financial strength make them the ideal company to take Klenzan to the next stage in its evolution.

“I am a little sad but immensely proud to be handing the reins over to Christeyns who have become true friends as well as business partners since we first met, but the time has come for me to take things a little easier.”
