Blackpool regeneration continues with international hotel deal
Hotel operator Hilton has signed a franchise agreement with leisure firm Create Developments (Blackpool) Limited to open the Hampton by Hilton Blackpool hotel.
Featuring 130 guest rooms, the venue will be located at the Corner of Wimbourne Place and New Southern Promenade, near the town’s Pleasure Beach amusement park.
The site chosen is also, according to Hilton, within walking distance of two tram stations offering access to the town centre.
Create Developments (Blackpool)’s managing director, Paul Mathison, said: “We are very excited to partner with Hilton and bring the Hampton by Hilton brand to Blackpool.
“As Blackpool regenerates and flourishes, we are confident this hotel will be at the forefront of that transformation and help attract more visitors to this colourful seaside town.”
Blackpool Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Enterprise and Economic Development, Cllr Mark Smith, said the authority is pleased to be adding a new accommodation option to the town’s expanding leisure offer.
The seaside resort is currently undergoing a period of investment. In recent years, the council has upgraded Blackpool’s promenade and overhauled its tram system.
Speaking further, Cllr Smith said: “Our recent regeneration has made Blackpool an exciting place for people to visit and for companies to invest and start new businesses in, boosting our local economy and helping to create and support more jobs across the town.”
Hampton by Hilton Blackpool will be the brand’s 18th UK venue, with a further 16 currently under development.
Phil Cordell, global head, focused service and Hampton by Hilton brand management, commented: “Hampton by Hilton is well established in the UK and we are thrilled to add Blackpool to our portfolio of destinations.
“We look forward to bringing the brand’s friendly customer service to Blackpool, offering high quality accommodation and amenities and helping take Blackpool’s tourism legacy into its next chapter.”
