Bradford logistics firm secures £500k contract with Urban Outfitters
Advanced Supply Chain Group (ASCG), the Bradford-based logistics firm, has been awarded a £500k contract with retailer, Urban Outfitters, to run its Nominated Carrier Scheme (NCS).
The contract will see ASCG collect and receive deliveries from all of Urban Outfitter’s UK suppliers and deliver them to its distribution centres for next day delivery.
To carry out this contract ASCG will use its Intelligent Logistics approach.
This approach comprises a mix of tools; software, intelligence, experience, standards and techniques.
These include bespoke IT services and software implementation, dedicated research and development activity, ISO quality principles and Lean and Six Sigma practices.
The initial NCS service will involve the implementation of a series of smart system tools which will streamline the retailer’s operations.
Ben Balfour, commercial director at ASCG, said: “With the growth of ecommerce, consumers are ordering more frequently and in smaller quantities. Retailers like Urban Outfitters now provide an online platform which is a one-stop-shop for the majority of consumers’ needs.
“We will be able to use our existing expertise and tailor our IT offering to ensure that Urban Outfitters can react to an increased pressure on logistics operations, ensuring goods are delivered to consumers rapidly and accurately.”
Ben Balfour continued: “Visibility in stock levels is now more important than ever, with consumer demands heightened and retailers offering more and more variety.
“We are working in partnership with Urban Outfitters to improve its offering to consumers, and ultimately, provide it with a competitive edge and enhanced bottom line.”
Advanced has also provided full track and trace, on line portal visibility, android and iPhone Apps to follow the status of the inbound orders.
