Sedgefield business centre to stage photography exhibition

A thriving business centre in County Durham is preparing to host a photography exhibition and competition later this month. The exhibition will run in the Manor House in Sedgefield on 10 and 11 February and will feature work by a group of local amateur photographers. Members of the public are also being asked to submit their own images into a competition. The best entries will be showcased during the event and will also win prizes.

The first Manor House photography exhibition will be held in the Old Court Room, on the ground floor of the historic 18th Century Grade II* listed building. As well as providing an office base for local businesses, the Manor House has a licence to hold events and marriages and has become a popular venue over the last year. The exhibition will feature a selection of images taken by Ryan Tempest who works in the building for the Parsons Containers Group. A keen amateur photographer, Tempest’s portfolio includes landscapes, flora and fauna, shots taken during the Goodwood Festival of Speed and stills of the Manor House.

Manor House events manager Marie Walker comments: “The Old Court Room lends itself to a wide variety of events and over the last year has hosted a wedding, numerous parties, live music, craft fairs, coffee mornings and an art exhibition. Ryan has captured some lovely images of the building, which we look forward to seeing on display alongside his other work and that of his fellow photographers. We also hope to receive some great competition entries to showcase at the event.”

The Manor House photography exhibition will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Friday 10 February and from 9:30am to 1:30pm on the Saturday. Entry to the event is free. Anyone who is interested in submitting a photograph for the competition should call Marie Walker on 01740 629264 or email events@manorhousesedgefield.co.uk.
