Work has now been completed on all 49 new homes at the site of the former school in Upper Wortley.

Work completed on new £8m village development in Leeds

Work has been completed on the £8m transformation of the former grade-II listed Upper Wortley School in Leeds, into a new homes development.

The development, named Greenhill Fold, comprises 13, two and three bedroom loft style houses, with a further 36, two, three and four bedroom, contemporary homes built within the school’s grounds.

Just two of the 49 homes are still for sale. The two remaining homes, which have been developed by Leeds property companies Rushbond Group and Advent Developments, feature four bedrooms, landscaped gardens, garages and are priced between £239,950 and £242,950.

Speaking on behalf of the developers, Tim Reeve said: “This development has brought the historic school back to life, with a new and sustainable use, as well as providing a wide range of much needed family homes in Upper Wortley.

“We’ve received huge amounts of positive feedback from neighbours, new owners as well as the school’s former staff and pupils who are delighted it is making a positive contribution to the local area again, and to see work complete and the new residents enjoying their homes is fantastic for everyone involved.

“As soon as work started we were inundated with enquiries from potential buyers and many of homes sold off-plan, before work was due to complete.

“This demonstrates the level of demand that exists for high quality homes that benefit from being close to several good schools and less than 10 minutes from Leeds city centre.”

Irene Scurrah from Your Move, the estate agent marketing the scheme, added: “Everyone who visits Greenhill Fold is impressed with the high levels of specification, space and attention to detail that flows throughout the whole development. It’s great to be handing over the keys and welcoming buyers into their new homes.

“Each of the remaining new builds offer an extremely spacious layout over three floors and have a very contemporary design with either walk-out or Juliette balconies from their first floor living rooms.

“They are all attracting high levels of interest, so any homebuyers that haven’t visited the site yet need to act fast.”
