Lloyd Newcastle launches new BMW and MINI models

Lloyd Newcastle is gearing up for another successful year with the launch this week of two new models – the BMW 5 Series and the bigger MINI Countryman.

The family-run retailer, based on Barrack Road, is unveiling the new BMW 5 Series and the new MINI Countryman at a special event on Thursday 9 February from 6pm.

The dealership will be revealing the new models to an audience of loyal customers and car fans who want to be some of the first to see the innovative new vehicles.

Members of the Lloyd Newcastle team have travelled to Spain in recent weeks for a sneak preview of the two cars and now can’t wait to share them with car enthusiasts in the North East.

Head of Business at Lloyd Newcastle Michelle Caveney said: “Lloyd Newcastle has gone from strength to strength in recent years, winning a string of awards and undergoing a multi-million pound revamp, and we’re now building on that momentum as we go forward into the rest of 2017.

“There’s always a fantastic buzz in the showroom when we take delivery of brand new models and we can’t wait to show off the new BMW 5 Series and MINI Countryman. While BMW and MINI are always renowned for innovation, there are some truly incredible features on these motors that have got us all very excited about their arrival in Newcastle.

“We hope as many people as possible will join us for some drinks, nibbles, and the first look at these new models in Newcastle.”

Not only was Lloyd Newcastle named BMW Retailer of the Year last year in 2015, it also scooped the BMW Regional Group Retailer of the Year prize, and Michelle was named Head of Business of the Year.

The new BMW 5 Series has already been named What Car? 2017 Car of the Year for its innovative features, including technology which allows drivers to have their hands off the wheel for 30 seconds.

Able to drive autonomously for short distances, the high-tech detailing of the new seventh-generation BMW 5 Series is designed to help drivers who could be distracted for short periods of time, by children in the back of the car, for example.

Among its driver assistance tricks, the BMW will accelerate to a set speed, braking automatically if there is a slower car in front. It also has gesture control for certain functions, such as answering the phone or changing radio channels.

The new MINI Countryman, meanwhile, is the biggest MINI yet. With SUV practicality for families, it also has nifty features, including an optional fold out picnic seat, which means drivers and passengers can sit down to take off muddy boots before getting back into the car. It’s also comes with MINI Navigation as standard meaning there’s no limit to your MINI adventure.

The preview evening is open to anyone who would like to see the new models. February 9th from 6pm onwards. Lloyd Newcastle, Barrack Road, NE2 4LE.
