Work commences on £34m housing development in Stamford Bridge, York
Yorkshire housebuilder Avant Homes has begun construction work at a new homes development in Stamford Bridge, York.
The housing developer purchased a 16-acre site off Roman Road where it will build 120 new homes.
The £34m development will comprise a collection of three, four and five-bedroom, semi-detached and detached properties. The first homes are already selling off-plan.
Site clearance and ground remodelling works are complete and construction of the first phase of plots is now underway with the build programme estimated to take approximately three years.
Mark Mitchell, Avant Homes’ Yorkshire managing director, said: “We are very pleased to reveal our plans for this new development, which will be our first in York since 2014.
“Stamford Bridge is a very desirable location and we expect many of the homes on phase one to sell off-plan. Works have begun in earnest and we expect the first homes to be ready for occupation by the end of May 2017.”
Based in Wakefield, Avant Homes Yorkshire is an operating company of the Avant Homes group, which employs 575 people and has four regional offices in Scotland, the north east of England, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
