Strategies To Increase The Mattresses Sales Between Ups
In the world of the retail boom, it is of utmost importance to have the competitive advantage to keep the sale going. However, it is the inevitable to have ‘no business’ or ‘no customers’ phases from time to time.
There are few areas where the variety and all time demand keep them going like the home furnishing stores, whereas there are others such as ‘sleep essentials stores’ where there will be occasional dull times.
As a manufacturer or retailer of mattresses, you can definitely think of below strategies to use this time effectively to learn new business tactics and improving sales, at the same time:
- Improve your product knowledge by reading books and magazines on your product and the ones offered by the competition.
- Go creative by thinking of unique ways of organizing a fun sales day featuringyour best memory foam mattress brand. Attach some creative reward along with each sell like a complimentary pillow or a movie voucher or an attractive discount on next sell, to attract more customers.
- Keep track of your selling productivity. Spend some time in analyzing some trends from past few months on what strategies works best and what needs to change.
- Organize a workshop for all sales representatives with a session on sales training material reading and a role play session in order to better prepare your staff for handling customer efficiently and productively.
- Start thinking from the customer’s perspective. Do a tour of your store along with your sales rep and look at each and every angle from the point of view of the customer. How would customer like to see the décor of the store, display of the products, variety, etc.? Walk into customer’s shoes and think about their preferences. Remember the customer is the king and only they can make any business successful.
- Never stop from experimenting new ideas, brainstorming, creative ways, taking new ideas into account that will not only add to your skill sets but also to your sales numbers.
- Remember mattresses are something that everyone sleeps on every day. They do wear out and people would want to change them. Do a follow up with old customers to check and then update your models after researching the competition’s brands in the market.
- To attract more customers, keep the basics in place. Every customer would like to visit a store that is neat and clean, have a pleasing staff, and have more options. Make them feel at home. Be courteous and polite, give thank you notes, and help them in making the best choice, as per the need.
- Never force the sell. It is important that to retain the customer for the lifetime and build a loyal customer base, you are not just selling something, which is not as per customer’s need but only adding to your sales target. Customer will never come back to you.
Sales downtime is actually an opportunity for the better sales time ahead. Use this time in investing your staff and make them technically sound, so that you can achieve the target.
