Tameside INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY Supporting DEMENTIA UK

Business Woman, Entrepreneur and Chartered Marketer, Shilpa Mistry, will be pulling out all the stops on March 8th for International Woman’s Day 2017. Alongside the owners of Tameside Businesses, Ashton resident Shilpa will be hosting the IWD event at the prestigious Curzon Ashton Football Club. The event will commence at 10.00 am and conclude at 1:00 pm when the ladies of the borough will gather to listen to a plethora of formidable and inspirational women in the guise of; Sara Knowles International Trade Advisor for Department for International Trade, Viv Parry, Business Creator and Storyteller, Louise Eccles, Director and Consultant, Implement Guru.

The theme for Tameside International Woman’s Day, is #BEBOLDFORCHANGE in support of Dementia UK. November 2016 figures released by the *Office of National Statistics show that for the first time, dementia, including Alzheimer’s Disease, is the leading cause of death for England and Wales. Of the 529,655 deaths registered during 2015, dementia accounted for 61,686 (11.6%).

Local business woman Jayshri Mistry owner of ‘Tropics and Magnetix’ Wellbeing is an advocate for Dementia UK and a great believer of highlighting the symptoms of the disorder and encouraging fundraising to aid valuable research into the disease. Jay knows only too well the devastating effect and impact the illness can have on a family when she suffered the loss of her own mother to vascular dementia in October 2016.

Jayshri Mistry commented “Since losing my mum I have been very interested in finding out different ways to help people with Dementia. Dementia took hold of my mum about three years ago, her mental functions, memory and the ability to do simple things in her life changed.” “Through this event and many more, I want to raise awareness of vascular dementia and raise money to help the charity get more support for families”

Small business owners will be supporting Shilpa at the event and they will be brandishing their wares on a variety of stalls focussing on Health and Wellbeing. Open networking alongside the habitual raffle will culminate the IWD event and if anyone wishes to contribute a raffle prize or offer a donation please email corporate@mistrymarketingevents.co.uk

Shilpa goes onto say “March 8th will be an exciting and inspirational day for Tameside celebrating International Woman’s Day across the borough. This year I choose to support Dementia UK because I have seen first-hand the effects dementia had left on Jayshri and her family, and I wanted to support her in raising awareness and fundraising with this event.” All proceeds from the event will be donated to Dementia UK.
