Castlegate Hands Over £5000 To Boost Local Charity
A STOCKTON shopping centre has handed over a cheque for £5000 to help local community causes.
Castlegate Shopping Centre raised the money throughout 2016 for Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation through a series of family events and sponsorships.
These included a total of £3568 through the Castlegate Christmas Grotto, £507 through a Rockstar Abseil down the Swallow Hotel and the remaining money coming from other family community events held in the centre throughout the year.
Acting Centre Manager, Tracey Surtees, said: “We’re truly grateful to our customers for their kindness and generosity to help us raise this amazing amount of money.
“The money will go towards fantastic community causes in Teesside and we’re very proud to be doing our bit for local people and groups who need it most” added Tracey.
