Double Awards Success for Vernacare

Bolton-based medical products manufacturer Vernacare has been crowned High Growth Exporter of the Year in the inaugural Northern Powerhouse Export Awards, and has also been shortlisted for two Medilink North West Healthcare Business Awards.

Vernacare’s innovative single-use system, which is designed and manufactured in Bolton, is used by 96% of NHS Trusts and in more than 48 countries across five continents.

Over the past three years Vernacare has introduced a high growth export strategy, which has opened up new markets in Singapore, Malaysia, India and France, as well as increasing sales in existing core markets across North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Europe.

In November, Vernacare accompanied the Prime Minister on a trade mission to India, and announced a five-year supply deal with one of Asia’s largest healthcare management groups. This is expected to lead to sales in India of more than £11 million over the next three years.

This is the third consecutive year that Vernacare has been shortlisted by Medilink, having won the Export Achievement Award for the past two years. Once again, Vernacare is shortlisted for the international trade award, as well as in the category for Outstanding Achievement. The 2017 award winners will be announced on 1 March.
